Hurricane Ike Update

All

I have had some thoughts about our experience and will provide an update later this week. Luckily we are fine and our home is fine. We are some of the lucky few that has power as almost half the city is still without power.

Almagordo, New Mexico -- White Sands NP

June 29, 2008
This is White Sands NP. I thought that the pictures don't do it justice. It is beautiful. WHITE as SNOW!

White City, New Mexico -- Carlsbad Caverns

This is Carlsbad Caverns (as you can read!). The girls have been having fun earning their Junior Ranger badges.

This is the entrance to the bathroom.

Kelly had to make sure that he and Molly made it through without any scratches!

It was COLD in the caverns. So nice compared to Texas.

San Antonio, TX -- The Alamo

This is the Alamo in San Antonio, Texas. This was the start of our trip.
We could not take any pictures inside because it is considered hallowed ground.

We learned a little more about Davy Crockett and the wild TEXAS? Is Texas in the West?

MUD MUD and More MUD

What part of don't go in the mud do you think they understood??? I should have said get in the mud have a great time and then they would still be clean. Yeah right. I can never win. It was also the oldest one that came up with the idea not Jack. Go figure.

They weren't allowed to come in for a long time. They started to get upset with me. And I am the mean one???

Memorial Weekend

Well it has been a good week and weekend so far. The one thing consistent this holiday weekend has been the heat. Well into the 90's with Humidity the last few days around 90% or higher. So, it has been a little sticky. Tomorrow we plan to go to either the beach or the pool.

Molly has been classic this week. All of a sudden she has started talking. We have no idea what she is saying but she wants us to know she is talking to us. She is really starting to come into her own and be her own self. She is really beginning to become her own person. Hopefully her gibberish will turn into words soon.

Alex, Ella, and Lauren have 8 days of school left and they are driving us nuts with it. We did get good news that Alex will not have to go to summer school because she passed her TAKS tests! The TAKS test is a state standardized test that a student has to pass in the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 7th grades. I think once your in high school you must pass the tests every year as well. It is an interesting experience not only for the student but for the family as well.

Well not much happening. We are gearing up for our marathon vacation this summer. Hopefully I will have some pictures ready for posting later today.

See ya in the funny papers.

Mother's Day is Great (from the MOM)

This is my Mother's Day Present. It is a red maple that is the front of our yard. It is beautiful but this is what the leaves are doing. I hope this one does not die.

It has been a very nice day today. We even all match without trying. I couldn't have done it I had tried!!!

It was too sunny in the front so we are on the porch. Molly doesn't understand what to do and everyone was trying to help.
The pen Lauren is holding is my present.

Molly is the cutest thing. Who gave her that cookie? I wonder...

We finally found shoes for her FAT feet.

Good picture of the alligator
